One goes up, on goes out

LA Observed reports that David Lauter of the Los Angeles Times has been promoted from California editor to assistant managing editor.

Tim Lynch, senior copy chief at the LA Times, has taken a job as senior media communications coordinator at Cal Poly Pomona, effective April 6.

Comings and goings

Esther Chou, online editor for LANG's three San Gabriel Valley newspapers, is leaving for a job at Cal Poly Pomona. Chou, who also sat on the paper's editorial board, is going to work for the school's communications department, writing for the Web site and magazine.
