Miami chop house

The Miami Herald is cutting 49 employees, including seven full time and two part timers. Poynter has the memos.

I vote for a quick death rather than lingering.

Another shocker. A newspaper with layoffs and furloughs. You are trying to compete in a covered wagon while the competition is not so limited. Your answer, reduce expenses and off with their heads. Can one newspaper maven give me a 2-5 year road map of where they would like to be and look like? What will circulation, advertising, news gathering, production and distribution all look like? Come on, you all can't be scarecrows travelling to the Emerald City, can you?
