There's a lot of negativity out there, and probably some hurt feelings. But now is the time to stand by the newspaper industry as it moves ahead from an uncertain yesterday to an even further tomorrow. It’s time for newspersons to realize that publications is hard work, and that a magnate can’t just wave a magic wand and fix everything. That's why bankrupting is not always the worse outcome to do. And a lot of these problems started under the Bush Administration.

Ellie dear,

You could not be off track more. Most people understand economics as well as boom and bust cycles. A number of newspapers are in or will face bankruptcy. The issue here is not the Bush administration, but, Singleton and his cast of talentless executives who prosper at the misery of their employees. I challenge yo to find five progressive items that this group has started to help revenue production, improve customer service, and heaven forbid, compete with and embrece the internet. Don't spend a lot of time on this...it is a trick question.

As far as this magnate waving a magic wand, no one has asked him to do that. We do ask that he leads and runs his company with good guidance so people don't say good riddance.
