Folks:
I’m pleased to announce that Phillip Sanfield has agreed to step in as interim publisher of the Torrance Consolidated properties. We are fortunate to have someone in Torrance who can step in with Phillip's tenure in the market. As editor of the Breeze and as a senior executive on the operating committee, he is well-equipped to keep the momentum on all fronts moving forward. Phillip will continue in his role as editor.
As I continue to familiarize myself with LANG operations over the next weeks, I will be sure to keep you all informed. In the meantime, I appreciate all that you do for our company.
Best Regards,
Fred Hamilton

you must be kidding.
Not a bad move necessarily. He seems to be on planet Earth more so than those crap acts Little Eddie "mentored".
sanfield is a good guy!
not a bad guy but not going to lead the revenue charge either. although, ficarra didn't do anything there either. how long does hamilton need to wait...he knew this was coming, he knows the operation or should, he has been there over two years in meetings etc., he has a past publisher running the daily news as interim...what does he need more time for?
little eddie never mentored anyone. he brought in worthless talent from the outside in the guise of a consultant for a project. after they were quickly to be found out as useless he hired them. the place is in much worse shape than prior to his arrival. a tenth grader with a number two pencil can make cuts.
Hey there Freddie, how much more time do you need to understand the LANG operations. Haven't you been there for a couple of years, haven't you seen the cuts, and as a matter of fact, you are in the position you now occupy not because of talent, but because you went along with the cuts. Have you brought one, just one revenue producing product that has worked? Don't think so. Why doesn't your good friend as you describe him Ficarra give you the scoop about operations at those two newspapers? Come on Freddie, all you will do is continue to cut like your mentor until you retire as you have said is on your agenda sooner than later. As a matter of fact, some of us believe you allready have.
