Shaky*

A 5.0-magnitude 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit at 8:39 p.m. about a mile from Inglewood.

The USGS reports a 3.1-magnitude aftershock at about 8:45.

Facebook is lit up.

*Updated: Dan Abendschein at the Pasadena Star-News profiled a Caltech researcher who's trying to determine which tall building in Los Angeles County are at risk of collapse in a major earthquake.

If you'd mapped the LANG locations where the quake was felt more people would comment. Just saying...

Once again, the LANG management failed to anticipate a major event. That the quake was small is no excuse. What if the quake had been major? Who would have covered it, given the reduced staffing. And the early deadlines because of press consolidation would have prevented LANG from providing full coverage. Next time, we won't be so lucky.

Its a good thing we have reporter-g to inform us about earthquakes now too. Perhaps he'll tell us how he would remake the earth so that quakes won't be so severe...after all he is a genius for a little man
