Name change

Readers will notice I've removed the moniker 'Reporter G' from the header and replaced it with my boring name, Gary Scott. Why? Because I was never really comfortable with Reporter G, having chosen it many years ago when blogs were mysterious things to most people. But, as with race car beds and Hot Wheels, all things must pass.

As my legion of fans swells into the double digits, and my blog gets linked to on a semi-regular basis, I'd rather be less cheeky and more direct with new readers - at least until I come up with a more interesting name. Until then, I'll keep the blog address the same and don't mind if others choose to use Reporter G for old time's sake.

Can't stop giggling about the "double digit" reference. One question - why is "butterfly" a label?

By any name, a good media blog, Gary. By your name, even better. Keep it up.

Gary, you have a terrific blog -- even if I do get attacked every time I post about LANG.

New name or not, the comment sections of this blog seem to have gotten much shorter as of late. Is it just me or are the comments becoming few and far between? I remember when the comments numbered in the double digits.

What happened here?

Gary I love the blog, hopefully it continues to grow. Peopla are finding it.

The blog is developing nicely, with a good starter mix of local and growing bigger picture media content. Comments will pick up next time there is a right-sizing of local newsrooms. It's summer, too. Perhaps Gary should boost traffic by accepting post-media help-wanted banner ads, or post adds for exciting self-employment opportunities in multi-level marketing. Or perhaps all the former newsroom employees who were commenting have secured high-paying employment in exciting new industries, and don't have time for kibitzing.
