Freedom for sale
Freedom Communications, owner of the Orange County Register, is up for sale; the company emerged from bankruptcy just eight months ago. Freedom reportedly plans to sell itself in a chunk, rather thank breaking pieces off. So who wants to buy a medium-size media company? A merger with MediaNews Group wouldn't be out of the question...

A merger with medianews...that's the ticket. Strong investment history, solid journalism pay, great advertising leadership, great online revenue stream and forward thinking ideas. You can;t lose with this deal, unless you work for Freeedom.
Where's William Wallace when you need him?
how about we take up a small collection to buy all the newspapers in los angeles except the times...they appear to have even less of a clue than most. then we have advertising focus on advertising, journalism focus on good writing, accounting counting, circ, delivering and growing...naw, what the hell was i thinking?
Jilted MediaNews Group Chief Executive William Dean Singleton told the Los Angeles Times that the Hoileses "are naive beach boys who have invited the sharks over to swim with them."

Memo to Dean:
Sharks might be better than running your empire than who you have now. A smarter bunch and more compassion.
Proofread your copy, people!
Geez, above poster. Didn't realize we were to be graded on grammar or typos etc. Maybe we all aren't skilled wordsmiths like yourself. But, it is hard to screw up four words.
The article appears to speak volumes with the omission of The Press-Enterprise as an Inland Empire contender. Either they hope to sneak under the radar or they already have had talks with MediaNews.
They might need those adjustments in salary that just landed?
you really think belo is in the market to buy newspapers? me no think so.
