Why are we still amazed at too-clever-to-be-true online pranks and why do we reward the perpetrators with yet more attention when the obvious hoax is found out?

It seemed pretty obvious to me that it was staged.
It was just too well crafted, and the woman seemed like she was acting out a role. I didn't see any true emotion from her.
Why am I even devoting any time to this?
Because we drool when we see pretty, shiny things.
