A vigil for journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling, who were jailed by North Korea while reporting on the trafficking of women along the China border, will be held tonight from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Wokcano in Santa Monica.
The North Korean government plans to try Lee and Ling for "hostile acts" starting tomorrow. If convicted, they could get between five to 10 years in prison. An online petition is circulating urging the release of the two Current TV journalists on humanitarian grounds.
Laura Ling's sister, sometimes CNN and National Geographic correspondent Lisa Ling, spoke to Warren Olney about the journalists' plight on yesterday's 'Which Way, LA?'

I believe the reporters broke the law and should pay the price. I have family members in the military and think this type of recklessness puts our military in harm’s way just so the reports can make some money.
