LANG today announced several personnel and job title changes that will further consolidate the business operations of the Torrance Daily Breeze, Los Angeles Daily News and Long Beach Press-Telegram - now dubbed LANG's metro division. From the staff story:
"These moves are not only designed to get efficiencies throughout our organization, but to strategically position all three metro division companies with coordinated, cohesive strategies that will drive our sales and circulation efforts," said Edward R. Moss, president and CEO of the Los Angeles Newspaper Group.

What happened to the current sales vp at the Daily News?

Ed Moss, you couldn't hit air if you fell out of a plane. I would like to see how these moves will position the organization with coordinated, cohesive strategies that will drive sales and circulation levels. All you did is once again shuffle people and in fact blame others for circulation and revenue declines. In fact your weak leadership as demonstrated over the past nearly two years has cratered a going concern. I am still waiting for a list of accomplishments that have been achieved on your watch other than expese reductions. No one can seem to identify any.

Great Idea LANG. Keep the ones that have no new Ideas. Why not hire some young talented NEW IDEA filled people instead of shuffling the deck chairs.

Just everyone get their life vest ready!

If memory is accurate, ol ed hired the guy from the times he just laid off...and replaced with another guy who use to work at the times who was laid off there.

This is great. Bertness and Moss can sit in a room and come up with new words for narcolepsy.

LANG-West moves one step closer to reality. LANG-East shouldn't be too far behind.

Goodbye local newspapers, hello generic regional coverage.

Mike Regan got laid off or whatever you want to call it. That has been in the wind for months. They need to take a hard look at what is left of their classified operation and the so called leaders there, a joke. But, anyone who can get their nose up ed's ol behind will stick around ubtil they get rid of him.

lang was down five and a quarter million from same month last year in revenue, I am sure these changes will turn it around. but of course we can blame all of it on the economy right?

I think I have figured this out. It has taken little eddie two years to figure out how to strategically position the newspapers he runs in a coordinated, cohesive way. Did he lead general custer at the battle of little big horn too? Way to go lightning!

This is truly shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. Seriously? Promotions? Why should I be surprised they do the same BS in LANG editorial. The worst of the worst rise to the top. Maybe just maybe they should try a new idea, and not the same crap coverage I see every year.

Bertness buddy, watch your back, ed moss will stick it to you like all the others and blame you for not being able to turn that mess around. There is probably nothing good that you inherited and who is to blame for that mess over the past couple of years?

I have really tried to refrain from name calling, but, Ed Moss, you are useless.

Maybe the head honcho at lang could ask for a little help in writing his comments. the last time I checked he had a few scribes left that have to write a better story than his pandering bullcrap.
