Fire, water, power
Southern California is burning. Two major fires - Montecito and Sylmar - have destroyed homes, caused massive evacuations and threaten L.A. with blackouts and water shortages. Three other blazes - Brea, Rancho Palos Verdes and Yorba Linda - sparked up today. The winds fanning the flames are expected to remain high all day. The LA Times has many amazing photos.

Pasadena's strike team assisting with the Montecito fire headed to OC last night. Two engines, nine firefighters.
I hear the Pasadena marathon was canceled as well.
