Dakota Smith, the editor at Curbed LA, has taken a job as general assignment reporter at the Los Angeles Daily News. Here's the announcement (via LA Observed).
the pay at Curbed must really suck for her to give up the voice and freedom the blog offered in exchange for $16/hr, racist readers and getting laid off in 2013.
Shows that in the end, a third tier digital writing jobs (below a few HuffPo and Daily Beast stars) can't compete in the real world with a fifteenth tier newspaper job. Digital is a career dead end for anyone who needs to make a living.
