Upward bound
Frank Girardot is slated to become metro editor of the three SGVN papers - the Pasadena Star-News, San Gabriel Valley Tribune and Whittier Daily News. Girardot replaces Edward Barrera, who is leaving for points south and then points east. The company is going to be recruiting for a deputy metro editor to take Girardot's slot.
Frank's still there? I worked with him at SGVN *years* ago.
ReplyDeleteFrank left and came back...I think me and him are the last of the originals from back in the day....sad huh?
ReplyDeleteWait, there's going to be one metro editor for all three papers?
ReplyDeleteFrank has been back for about a year. Another good journalist in an ompossible situation.

ReplyDeleteFrank deserves it. He's old school, but the he's working with a lot of kids who know nothing about reporting.
ReplyDeleteSure they can write an inverted pyramid lead and get the facts. but they have no idea how to report those facts in a way that makes me want to read the SN or the Trib.
Maybe Frank can get some good hires.
Gosh, I hope he still has time to keep writing his cut-and-paste blog.
